See, there are icons I associate with you sort of vaguely, but like everyone else on my friends list - like everyone I know - to me, you're actually a specific assemblage of colors and pattern that means you. For online people, this is based entirely on their usernames unless I know them so well that I think of them entirely as their real names. (This is why I have a nervous breakdown whenever anyone on my friends list changes usernames: it's a new color set! Soon, it will acquire a new color/pattern all its own, because it's a name! Which means that this is OMG a whole new person!)
For this to make any sense, you have to know - numbers, letters, and certain words are colors to me. (Like, the letters T, U, E, S, D, A, Y all are their own colors - yellow-brown, murky gray-blue, yellow, white with a black outline, blue, bright red, off-white - but the word Tuesday, and the day itself, is greenish yellow.)
So the letters of your username are their own colors, but I've been reading you long enough for you to acquire your very own color and pattern. And that is how I picture you, and think of you, and so it was hard to answer this when I kept thinking, "But my mental image of Karen/odditycollector has nothing to do with her icons!"
But, you know, I made the effort. Because I cannot resist the lure of a poll.
