Event burnout, me?

Perhaps I am biased to the point of unreasonableness, but seeing this made my soul sigh.

Blackest Night: Even the *checklist* is a multi-issue extravaganza (that will Change Comics Forever!, no doubt).

Crisis of Infinite Checklists!

*studies checklist* So that's...twenty-four parts, spread over two ongoing books and five miniseries. Now admittedly this is a vast improvement over the "we are going to take over every book in the DC universe all summer!" model, but all the same...is it okay if I just don't read this?

There are 24 books on the checklist: PART ONE.

Ai, Carmen. So, you think more characters will die or come back from the dead by the end of all that?

[identity profile] greenygal.livejournal.com 2009-07-18 08:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, god. I just mentally edited in that "part one" referred to July, because that would be sane, but no. That's all part one? Seriously? How the hell long is this thing running? (Okay, so year-long events aren't unheard of or even, lately, unusual; I know, I know.) Just...no.

There will probably be slightly more deaths than resurrections, but more random new legacy characters introduced than either!

...PS, I actually know your name actually.

I am so, so glad not to be a GL fan right now. Way to go DC, scaring me off trying a new fandom! *puts fingers in ears and sings LALALA this will not affect my favourite characters LALALA*

You have stumbled on my philosophy as regarding comics canon in general!

I'm curious, were you considering checking out GL before? I read most of the Kyle run, but Rebirth and etc turned me off. (I discovered I have no patience for Events driven by old school fanservice/continuity porn, which I find kinda ironic 'cause Hello!)

Not recently - I got curious around the Sinestro Corps War but there were so many books involved, and there seemed to be so much related to Infinite Crisis, that it was just too overwhelming. And I haven't been able to figure out the GL universe since.
