Still watching Farscape!

I'm now at early Season 2, although that's only because I've watched way too many in a row yesterday and I think I need a break now. These seasons be looong.

John Crichton is behaving increasingly like an asshole, but I guess I really don't blame him. Still, it is kind of funny when he assumes he is the main character in a few episodes, only to have the guest stars kind of blink at him and go "Please. You thought we were talking to *you*?"

Also made of lol: sticking a handful of people, any two of which are pissed off at each other more often than not, on a ship which has no captain and, indeed, has a tendency to wander off where *it* wants to go even if the rest of the crew has for once agreed on a destination.

One thing the show has to recommend it is how it is really easy to tell everyone apart! I am not as challenged in this area as I once was, but if you show me two people with similar haircuts I will get confused. But in Farscape everyone has very different makeup and prosthetics on... assuming they are not muppets.

I am told Farscape breaks many tv show rules, I am assuming eventually, but at the least it smashes the "one woman in space" rule. There are lots of ladies on this show! Each of them is very different, and each of them capable of challenging John in the asshole department. Everyone in space is an asshole! John is just adapting to their ways!

But there are still a lot of white folk in space, and I am not even counting humans but for funky looking ears. Okay, there was one planet with majority brown people, but it was the superstitious, technologically impaired planet. Maaaan. Does this get better? I mean, I am spoiler-phobic about anything I intend to watch, but this I would really like to know.

It keeps getting better. And the episode you mentioned (Jeremiah Crichton) is widely considered to be one of the worst episodes of the show.

It was incredibly thoughtless, yeah, but I'm further in now, and I still haven't seen any more brown people in space.
