There's nothing like coming home after six hours worth of labs, signing onto LJ, and discovering that someone is randomly stealing your icons.

I mean, WTF. I don't think I'm overly possessive of them - I'm perfectly aware none of the base images are mine, and none of my manipulations are very extreme, and so I figure if somebody wants to use one, fine. ASK. Depending on which it is, I may or may not care if you credit.

Whether it looks like it or not, I put serious thought and, usually, effort into those things. Ownership in fandom is a tricky argument, but isn't this a basic courtesy thing? No?

Sigh.

Sometimes, fandom is exactly what you need to unwind. Sometimes, it's like hitting your head against a brick wall to see which will break first.

I really shouldn't be letting this get to me.
