Homestuck fandom has had a *weird* effect with the way I interact with media.
Sometimes I catch myself thinking, Awww, Character A and Character B are so cute together! I hope they fall in friendship.

My favourite thing is that <> gives me an excuse to relax when members of a BFF dynamic I'm invested in start hooking up with romantic partners. They can still be each other's most important people forever! (Even if canon sources tend to work against me there.)
HS has actually been less of a gen fandom for me than usual. I am rather amused at myself there, considering the ships that've drawn me in the past tend to be people old enough to have layers of *history* between them. But otoh, my harddrive is littered with abandoned porny wips on the theme of "interspecies couple awkwardly attempts to have sex with varying degrees of success" so maybe I should not be very surprised after all.
Randomly, have you seen Bridesmaids? It would not be hard to convince me it was a pretty faithful remake of a Troll all-quadrant romcom, only with less of a bodycount and Human Kristen Wiig and Human Rose Byrne don't have hatemakouts at the end.
