So, okay, you win. I went to see Pirates of the Caribbean and, yes, it was really very good. And I assume everybody caught that part with the swords...
I was hesitant to see it for a while because, although it seemed the whole world was screaming about it, whenever I asked if it was good I got the same answer.
"Two words, man: Johnny. Depp."
Which is a perfectly valid reason for going to see a movie, but it kinda evades the question.
But, still, PoC was probably the best movie I've seen in months (even if the bullet thing made no sense), and, sure, Depp was hot. And he played one of the most interesting characters I've met in some time; if you're me, that counts for a lot.
After that we went to see The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, because it was my turn to buy the tickets and I'm morbid that way. I didn't mind it as much as I thought I would, but that's not saying much, really. I honestly don't think the screenwriters bothered to read any of the appropriate literature, and there were other things to giggle at too.
Sigh. You know you've been in fandom too long when the best description of a movie seems to be: "A poorly done crossover." But there it is.
