I believe the list of events was as so...

Oliver Nome did a Wonder Woman redesign over here.

forty40dumbhott @ tumblr coloured it to show what he'd like in a Wonder Woman portayal.

It circulated around tumblr, until I eventually saw it and went yeaaaaahhhhh..... buuuuuuttttttt..... it is still white woman *lineart*, and added a couple tweaks of my own. )

The end!
I am slooowly putting together some more traditional solicit Monday mocking, but in the meantime, have a further installment of Drawing Troll Horns On 'American Vampire' Covers: )

Sometime I am going to acquire physical copies of this series and attack it with an orange gel pen. It seems like an inevitable outcome.
Not gonna reblog everything from tumblr, but I made a few asofterworld mashups. All the cool kids were doing it!

Here's an Amanda Waller one that, yeah. )

Image is from Amanda Waller's family album.

(original)

After the Amanda Waller ones, I made waaaay too many animated ones. Like so. I'm a *little* more patient with that feature of Photoshop now, I guess? I still don't find it intuitive, though.

Anyway, it's a fun enough meme, and the results are often worth a giggle, but I don't think I will do any more. It just doesn't feel like I'm saying anything *new*.
It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a fangirl in possession of an extra pair of canvas shoes, must be in want of something to do with them.

(I'm not sure how I keep accidentally ending up with extraneous shoes, but I suppose there are worse curses.)

This is incredibly silly. )

More solicits!

That do not accurately reflect anything actually in the comics.

And may contain unexplained crossovers.

And really too many words! )

Yay! That's all! We should do this again sometime.

I was not expecting solicit Monday to come so early! And, for a month with a *really gory* emergent theme to its covers, to actually be fun (otherwise)! People are not just posing boringly on every single book! I can remember why I like this game!

Here be May's special Karen variant covers. )
There will probably be more later, because this month's solicit theme is "Tentacle Porn Starring Batman" and I will never have the power to resist something like that. People ineligible for Green Lantern rings: me.

But for now, I'll leave you with the solicit for Batwoman... who I'm sure we all remember from the time she starred in a Monistat ad.

I'm. Something approaching sorry. )

(You have no idea the terrible, terrible jokes I decided against here, on the basis of they'd never make it into actual ad copy. Soooo terrible.)
I made too many of these last time as well. Turns out, finding boring interpretations of extreme! illustrations is a pretty easy hobby.

I wasn't sure if these were average enough, but then Photobucket crashed my browser, and oops there went my quota of caring. MLIA. )

By popular singular request, this Solicit Not-Monday-Anymore brings the return of "Entirely average stories, as illustrated by comics artists"! Inspired by MyLifeIsAverage.com.

Today I used a computer to write some words on some comics covers. Then I posted them for public consumption. MLIA. )

A while ago, I volunteered myself as an unofficial art-side partner for [personal profile] petra and [personal profile] thatyourefuse's [community profile] polybigbang story!

I had the vague plan of putting together a title page via digital collage, but soon became confused by the logistics of representing a fairly balanced OT4 via 2D media. So I ended up putting together something a bit different, that I hope still represents the story. :) I had a fun time, everyone, I will not lie.

(Oh, and, Petra & Carla, if either of you would like one of these, let me know and I'll mail it over.)

Story Text and Art Links On Petra's journal
There's been some confusion over the comic pages I posted this morning. For what purpose did I post them? What even are they?

Obviously, there was a communications failure on my side. I suspect, after 3 hours of word balloons, I was just *really sick* of looking at words. Everyone should just KNOW my intentions.

The pages aren't from a "real" comic: I found some unrelated art which (with a couple small tweaks) served my purposes, and re-dialogued them entirely! The pages are now a scene that should logically follow the end of the War of the Supermen miniseries, yet does not.

If you read the New Kypton/War of the Supermen story - and I don't recommend it, if only because it seems like DC got bored in the middle of several storylines and concluded with (fairly literally) "Rocks fall; everyone dies" - you were treated to a plot in which the humans blow up a populated planet out of xenophobia, for which the only consequence I noticed was a sad editorial by Lois Lane, after which she flew in Superman's arms towards a hopeful sunrise. Or maybe a sunset, it doesn't really matter. [scans or it didn't happen]

My reaction was basically, "Whaaaaaaaaat?"

So I put together a scene* in which some of the DCU's aliens call us on that shit. (I was waiting for someone more "official" to do it for me, but, well...) Because yes, we live in a vacuum, but we live in a vacuum full of other populated planets who should frown on such actions. If only out of self interest. (The DCU's aliens tend towards jackassery, with luck I got that across?)

*I don't know what to call it. Illustrated fanfic? Narrative meta? Too much screwing around with Photoshop?
This is kind of belated, but whatever!

I had quite a few problems with the New Krypton/War of the Supermen storyline from DC. This is regarding one of them.

We Are Not Alone in the Universe (or Zod Was Right)
Being an epilogue to the events of War of the Supermen.

Spoilers: for War of the Supermen, in case you were unsure on that point.
[ETA: very important, this is a scene made from re-dialogued comic art. The words, and only the words, are mine. I talk more about my intentions in this post.]

Content Notes: Falling Anvils. Exposition. And I think I am funny. Be advised. )

(You know what is a hard question to figure out the answer to? What is the rotation period of our galaxy. Fascinating, but not so's you can fit in a word bubble.)

All the artwork I used was taken from R.E.B.E.L.S. 17, because the universe apparently sensed my need and provided as best it could. I've also borrowed a couple lines without change. Credit goes to Sergio Arino (pencils), Scott Hanna (ink), and Tony Bedard (script).

Font is Letter-O-Matic.

And you know who deserves way for props than they traditionally get? Whoever draws the damn word balloons in comics. OH MY GOD. (Apparently there is a better way than whatever I did, but it made me want to say mean things to my computer trying to figure it out.)

( Aug. 20th, 2010 02:03 am)
I've wanted to redo this cover since reading this extremely well done Racebending Revenge story, in which Golden Age Superman is reimagined as a black man.

I originally tried to draw it myself as homage, but, well. That didn't end prettily. Photoshop still seems like cheating for such a small percentage change, but so it goes )
This month's solicit cover theme is "incomprehensible faux-double exposure collages," which I guess is at least above previous themes such as "giant disembodied heads eating people" or "characters making o-faces at unbelievably reflective swords" or "explosions placed strategically behind our heroes so as to indicate epic farting".

No, wait. That last one was hilarious times.

However, this month's theme for *here* is Guess who found the demotivational poster generator?! )
