It’s 2006, and I’m actually fairly optimistic about it. This hits me at the beginning of every new term (and occasionally when the weather dictates) and will probably last until my first homework assignment, but for now I’m feeling pretty amicable towards the world.
I’ve been away from livejournal for the last couple weeks and didn’t get to properly summarize the previous year, as seems fun. I don’t have enough fic worth mentioning, so I decided to tally up other things as well.
So, here are some things from 2005 that I think noteworthy for various reasons (and are entirely my fault).
Oh, and BTW. Seeing Bush on the news lately, don’t you think he looks tired?

- Some things I’ve written:
Divine Inspiration, which probably serves best as a warning to everyone who might stumble across this LJ ever:
Lies the Tabloids Told Me. There was a rant brought to my attention about how utterly wrongheaded the idea of Dom!Aziraphale was, him being such a pansy and all. At that point, I think this was pretty much inevitable.
Shower ficlets! For the DCU, Good Omens, and House fandoms. And I still owe one more.

And then there was the time I tried (and failed) to write something silly every day for a week.... I'm not sure they're noteworthy, but they're passably entertaining, at least.
A fanfic Neil Gaiman wrote first.
Young Justice learns to avoid one of the more common security mistakes.
Tentatively Titled What I did on my Vacation, by Veronica Ferris, age 23.
Harry Potter nonsense.
Alan Scott fights criminals who know his weakness.
I wish this section had been longer, really. - PostSecret Style Things.
I’m saddened by how fast this meme died, as it produced some utterly amazing things. I made a whole lot of them, myself, and was mostly happy with quite a large percentage.
Good Omens:

I’m fond of the two bottom ones on this page :

Irewroteput up the proper ending of Batman 644. Which, really? Not the greatest example of dialogue one hopes to see, but it very much *needed* to be done. This led to a sort of rant/manifesto on my view of comics fandom.
There was, of course, the infamous Supergirl vs. Paris Hilton photo argument: http://www.livejournal.com/users/notassuch/85802.html. Because you all *needed* to share my pain.
A few of us got together for a Round Robin atdcrevolution. It was utterly awesome. The chapter headings alone crack me the hell up.
Randomly, I’m sort of sad the “what am I talking about” game never caught on.- I posted some Excalibur summaries, aka What If... Magneto And Professor X Eloped To A Tropical Island?
Removed from any impertinent questions like "But, isn't he a registered terrorist" or "But, didn't he try to wipe your mind a couple times," Charles and Erik have been living in frighteningly domestic bliss. Unfortunately, the outside Marvelverse will *insist* on intruding eventually (most lately in the form of Erik's daughter loosing a few more of her marbles and killing some friends, you know how it goes), and we're quickly reminded that theirs is a relationship that has difficulty surviving exposure to things like politics, inlaws, non-mutual friends, alien abductions, alien visitations, out of body experiences, cloning debates, history, personal history, mutual friends, past arguments, alternate future arguments, funny hats, UN council meetings, attempted homicide, successful homicide, successful suicide, the colour purple, ferrous metal, and, it wouldn't surprise me, oxygen.

And also, bits of The JLA Meets Bugs Bunny.
Oh, and BTW. Seeing Bush on the news lately, don’t you think he looks tired?
