So I am having this problem where every time someone mentions the Legion of Super-Heroes I get really, really angry. I can't read the otherwise unrelated comics where DC is trying to push them at me, and it's totally ruining cracky
kink_bingo-related conversations where we try to remember where to find, eg, the femdom AUs, or the ageplay incidents, or the villain whose superpower is Bondage. (In conclusion, Farscape is not the only fandom that could fill one of those bingo cards.)
I haven't forgiven DC for deciding to bring back the Pre-Crisis Legion continuity: the *original* "We have green, pink, and blue characters!" example of diversity. Only this time, for edginess, the humans of Earth are xenophobes, which is... I've told everyone my Fairy Tale about "Why there are no brown people in the Future", yeah? DC is not doing much to convince me that mass genocide *isn't* actually what they believe is a necessary condition for a happily ever forever.
It's hard to entirely stop caring about characters you've grown up with - I've been trying. But I was considering the last time something about their story made me happy, rather than emotions more easily described in unhappy flailing gestures, and it was def. when I was colouring in some issues with a brown crayon.
So. I'm thinking about reworking more of them. It'd be slower going (I hope) and I'd post them somewhere locked, rather than publicly. I'd like to know if there's any interest - I've already made my argument; This'd just be, I dunno. Therapy.
