I've watched the first 2 episodes of Lost Girl, the new Canadian urban fantasy show about fairies. (Never to be confused with Lost Girls.) I'd previously suggested to a couple people that the fae ought to be the next vampires, so having this show appear made me feel very clever.

Alas, I cannot at this time recommend it; the cracks in the world-building show, and it is doing that thing I hate in fantasy, where exploring the universe is just learning more simple, arbitrary "rules". OTOH, it is a detective-ish show with a female heavy cast, and is as happy to overtly sexualize relationships between women as between women and men; if you are more forgiving of fantasy tropes than I am, it may be worth your time.

The ratio of Bizarros to Yaye was a bit high for my taste, but how happy am I that Supergirl: Science Hero is becoming a more central facet of the character with every new story?

The answer is: 7.6 units of happy. Or, somewhere between "pretty" and "very" on the quantified happy scale.
