So, the new R.E.B.E.L.S. series...
I am, as will shock no one, entirely prepared to be excited about a series following the adventures of Vril Dox II. I have been *practising*. But then we get stuff like this:
Context: Brainiac 5 deposited a facsimile of himself in his forefather's brain through what was actually a pretty asinine plot but maybe there are hidden subtleties what will be revealed later? *SO MUCH* BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT, IS WHAT I AM SAYING.
And then this issue we get the following moment of brilliance.

Read only memory. Not actually a difficult concept. Does what it says on the can. Maybe you can't change it (brains don't work that way), but if you can read it, you can copy it, folks!
Sounds like B5 is actually talking about DRM. And, okay, in fairness *I* should not like to tell Vril I slapped a EULA on his brain either, but I am not sure what making him think I am an *idiot* is meant to accomplish instead.
Wasn't Tony Bedard* assigned to Oracle for a while? Admittedly for a while when I wasn't reading Birds of Prey, but I can see no way this ended well.
(Babs: I must go online for the purposes of fighting crime! But oh no! The Tubes are not wheelchair accessible!
PSA: If your users will require more than one internet platform, make sure they are connected with ramps or elevators, never stairs!)
*I do happily own other, perfectly servicable stories by him, but maybe he should avoid mention of technology from now on. There have been other, though slightly less headdesky moments, and all together it is not doing much for my faith in a series about a Brainiac. I am saying.
