(First of all, I now have a scanner! This is very exciting, and although I don't really have much I want to scan, I'm sure I'll find something(s). Be warned.)

I am inclined to believe that every city has a Granville Street, with movie theatres and panhandlers in about equal measure. The other day I was wandering around there when I saw someone wearing a shirt that read "Operator carries no change." Now, a lot of the time I understand the sentiment, especially if I've just emptied my bank account for courses, but it struck me as extremely callous. Like sneering, almost.

Is wearing a shirt that says I don't care any worse than simple indifference? I don't know, but for a political statement shirt I'd be much more comfortable with something pro-war or such. Because I disagree, you see. For the other, if I want to be annoyed at the nameless stranger who passed me, I'd have to be annoyed with myself as well.

Further up, there was an old man: the sort you see in movies holding signs that say The End Is Nigh!" or Jesus is your SAVIOUR! This one was holding a sign that said Jesus is NOT your saviour! Ask me why! and also Hitler is due to return. Ask me how! I'm assuming the latter was meant as a warning, sort of as a benefit of the doubt thing. Or maybe he was selling tabloids?

I was rushing for a bus, but I think I might have asked him why! otherwise. It seemed like it might have been an interesting story.
