That meme where your fandoms are compared to members of the opposite sex?

Good Omens is like the guy you fell madly, passionately in love with, every day was your honeymoon, the sex was better than anything and you laughed at all his lame jokes and *meant* it. When he proposes, you say yes, YES! and imagine changing your name and the baby clothes your kids will wear... and then the shine slowly wears off the relationship. You find yourself saying, "Not today, dear, I have a headache," and "I think you told that one before." Eventually, fiddling with your engagement ring the whole time, you get as far in That Conversation as "but I think we should see other people..." before he breathes a sigh of relief and says, "Yeah, I was never meant for monogamy either. Have you met my hot cousin?"

Sandman is like that hot cousin.

The DCU is like that old friend who knows everything about you. He flirts with you from time to time and you never know when he's serious about it. So you usually laugh it off, tell him that you're already involved or whatever, but you've gone home with him a few times and sometimes you feel a little bad that you never feel guilty in the morning.

The Legion is like that kid you knew from back when a boy told you he had a crush on you by punching you in the arm. Every so often he shows up unexpectedly, with flowers or a stuffed animal, and says, "Hey, I've missed you. I know what happened between us before, but I'm a completely new man." So you get back together for a bit, and he was right - he *is* a completely new man - but even as he's gotten past the issues that turned you off before, he's now got ENTIRELY NEW issues that piss you off. It ends awkwardly, and afterward you only think of him reluctantly and with some embarrassment until the next time he shows up.

Total Recall: 2070 is like that one night stand that left before you got a good look at him in the morning. What you remember of him totally depends on your mood - when you're happy, he was charming and handsome; when you're depressed, he was a fat slob. You remember the sex as mindblowing (if over quickly), but you also remember being drunk and worry it wasn't actually that great at the time. You think you might have met him again in the same bar, once, but he didn't recognize you.

Earth: Final Conflict is like that shy, pretty girl in your biology class you were stuck fantasizing about until one day you met her at the edge of a party. The sex is uncertain but hot, but after a couple weeks of dating she begins collecting tattoos and spiked chokers and having Loud Opinions you think she might have got from a magazine. When you try to ask her about what's going on, she gets angry and moody. You end up dumping her as a poseur, but console yourself with those same fantasies from the beginning.

ReBoot is the boy who's slightly too young for you, but really, really cute. You revel in the immaturity he brings out in you, but the relationship dies quickly after you finally drag him to bed a couple times, because you feel a little bit dirty.

Forever Knight is like your first boyfriend, from before you had anything to measure him against. He was unappreciative and a little insulting, but he pissed your father off and looked good in tight jeans. You tell yourself that you'd have never got involved if it wasn't for those teenager's hormones pumping through your blood, but secretly you still compare any new relationships to him.

Highlander is the guy you met in math class who liked the same movies as you did and knew all the same jokes. You had a great relationship for a long time, but you knew it was never going to go anywhere because it was a mental love, not a visceral one. Also, you're pretty sure it would have ended quicker if his friends were less cool. It was an amiable parting, and you still see each other from time to time over coffee.

Buffy is like the older babysitter you had a crush on, back when she was taller than you and all-knowing. You told her you were going to marry her when you were grown up too, and she laughed in a way you *wanted* to mean she agreed, but didn't. But now that you *are* older you look at her a little more critically, and are glad you two never had much of a chance. (In the dark of night, however, you wonder if she knows she was the first one to break your heart a little bit.)

Firefly is the boy who is just as weird as you are, but in different and complementary ways. You don't respond to his advances, but not because you're not interested. It's just that he's notoriously promiscuous, and you think that something between the two of you should be *special*. You feel that he really *gets* you, like no one else could possibly do - and that you, him. It never occurs to you that everybody else feels the same way.

X-men Movieverse is like the guy who's a generation older than you. He seems deeper and more mature than the other guys you've dated, and more experienced in bed. You jump straight to the contented, companionable stage of the relationship, and he says it's like he's known you forever. You're flattered, but deep down you really miss the wild passion. You end up cheating on him, and then leave before you can find out what he'd say.

Die Another Day is the cute-enough guy sitting alone at the booth in the back of the pub, reading a geeky magazine. When you strike up a conversation he doesn't shut up ever, but he seems interesting so you don't mind. After a couple days, though, you realize that you're only interested in his opinion on that one topic he happened to stumble on when you met, and that everything else he says is entirely stupid. The sex alone isn't good enough to justify keeping him around.

Brimstone is like that hot guy who blew into town on a beat-up motorcycle, dressed all in tight leather. He never got around to remembering your name best three out of five, but he took you places you'd seen before so fast that they seemed like somewhere else, somewhere *new*. If it wasn't for him, you'd have never realized the fun of sex in public places. You're a little annoyed that he didn't offer to take you with him when he drove out of town again, but there's no chance in hell you would have said yes anyway.

Five people I'd love to see do this, although they shouldn't consider themselves 'tagged' by any means... Also, everyone else.
