Excalibur v3 11 - Striptease for me, Baby

[Sometimes I am sad that my Excalibur summaries were stuck from the internets. But I remembered I could fix that! This one originally posted on March 28, 2005.]

I... hesitate to use the word spoilers for this post, because although the comic came out less than a week ago, the whole of Excalibur v3 so far has been Claremont's attempt to resurrect the noble traditions of the silver age.

That is, a spoiler warning implies you'll be spoiled for something, which implies plot, which implies a logical sequence of events, and... I really don't want to give that impression. Anyway.

So then. We finally learn about Charles' great plan to keep Erik sane by, um, not leaving him alone at night.

Believe it or not, the rest of the series makes way more sense in light of this revelation.


I debated adding the second page of this scene, because my sense of humour tends to degrade when I'm tired, and I was afraid I'd scar everybody with any bukkake jokes comments I might provide. But, you know, I'm sure the people reading this could have come up with better ones *anyway*.

I'm not usually big on slash, but y'know I have to admit that Chris' written is far more entertaining this way.

I think we're at the point where they are doing it on purpose. Like Japanese boy bands.

Except possibly for Claremont, I have heard, which... Maybe this was envisioned as the story of when Xavier and Magneto snuck off to a tropical island together and spent an utterly ridiculous amount of pages cooking dinner for each other and drinking wine by sunset... as best buddies do! And holding hands manfully whist manfully gazing into the other's eyes and talking about how they are most important to each other and they are soulmates... but in a platonic way! And also Charles is going to save him with the power of LOVE... but that is only because LOVE is a great power source and he happens to have some handy!

See! It is possible! Yes? Yes?
