Some more fairly random thoughts.

1. I was half-listening to the latest West Wing today:

Presidential Candidate Vinick: Presidents walk in giant footsteps.
Presidential Candidate Vinick: They have magnificent legs.

To which I made the appropriate Wha? before my ears caught up to my brain and explained that he had actually said legacies, you weirdo. LEGACIES. Which, okay, but how sad is it my first reaction was disappointment? Like the, aw, now there probably won't be any creepy old man slash, sort of disapointment.

The internet has ruined by brain for even ENITRELY INNOCENT stimuli! And I'm not even upset about it! See? See what you're done to me?

2. And on the subject of creepy old man slash:

I recently went through the entirety of Excalibur v3 and put up a summary to the effect of Magneto and Professor X are liek so married, OMG. (And yes, actually - I *do* feel this is a productive use of my time.) Anyway, I am now convinced that Charles has actually brainwashed Erik into being the world's greatest boyfriend, although I have no idea if this is because there were clues to such in the text, or if I was just desperately seeking an alternative explanation for this.

See, Charles is obviously working his brain really hard to get Erik back under his control, and so it makes sense that he'd be sweating, right? Yeah, of course that's right.

3. I've read the Legion of Super-Heroes 4, and now my brain wants me to write fic I have a theory about their symbol. I earlier pointed out that it's suspiciously similar to that of LexCorp, and Lex would probably be upset it was appropriated by a bunch of people with superpowers. But now, I'm not so sure about the second part.

See, there's one main difference between the symbols, and that is the shooting star thing. And we know that Superman fairly enough came to earth as a shooting star so maybe, at some point in the DCU's future, Superman and Luthor finally get over themselves and decide to work together - or maybe Kon takes over the company, who knows - and the LexCorp symbol is changed accordingly to represent that.

And then, over the centuries, it falls into the realm of legend as representing the ideal of humans and metas working together for a better world and that sort of nonsense, which explains why a group of kids in a universe where English is extinct would stamp their merchandise with a stylized 'L'.

*nods proudly at this feat of thinking*

Hey, I've long since made peace with my geekiness.

4. I've been listening to this song on repeat for the last couple days, so I thought I'd share.

The Mountain - Tracy Grammer

It manages to be sad and wistful and optimistic all at once, which is a feat. It's soft and beautiful - I'm thinking of comparing it to The Highwayman, but this is just because I have little experience with anything other than college rock - and the lyrics are interesting. Which is more important than one might suppose, if you're listening to a song on repeat for that long.
