I have noticed that there are some fairly zany theories in White Collar land. But... only *fairly* zany. I am coming from *comics*, after all. Where are the *actually* zany ones?
So I will start!
You know how Kate looks a little like a younger version of Elizabeth? That's because she *is*. In a few years, there'll be an... incident... during a con involving a time machine. But a good con artist knows how to find her feet wherever she lands, and knowing the general shape of the immediate future isn't exactly a *hindrance*.
Imagine her surprise when she fell for the other person in the world whosehobby job is stalking Neal Caffrey! She and Peter really do have a lot in common, although she doesn't remember him as so charming the first time around.
And those of you who answer, to Neal's concerned exclamations of "Someone got to Kate!", with "Hah, looks like Kate got to *herself*", congrats on being more right than you'd guessed! Though Elizabeth is not entirely without decency; she called on a friend to house him until she comes to collect.
"Be careful with him, June. He looks like a puppy, but he'll bite if he thinks it serves him."
"Elizabeth, dear. That's what makes things interesting."
Or?
FBI: White Collar division? Totally a cover story for the MIB. 85% of the time, any paintings or sculptures they recover are smuggled alien technology.
And *that* is the reason the other agents aren't best pleased having Caffrey join their meetings. Sure, he's useful, but he isn't *cleared*, and they have to put together a second meeting to discuss essential details. How you gonna make friends like that, Caffrey?
It's also the reason we haven't gotten a canon OT3 pairing, yet. It's not that Peter and El aren't *open*, but how to explain Elizabeth is a Bring Your Own Tentacles kind of gal?
Anyone else have any favourite guesses?
