So in the past week I more (or, well, less actually) caught up with Stargate: Atlantis. Mostly, I think, because I wanted to see what everybody was so excited about... and if I could get some over here please.
And, well? It's diverting, and I really appreciate having half a cast worth of bitchy scientists (although, where are the female bitchy scientists plz? We've fought long and hard for our right to be sarcastic dorks!) but I don't think there's much threat of the fandom swallowing me whole.
(I've got some random thoughts on the likelihood of this happening for any given fandom as a function of several variables, which I will not bore you with, because it's not your fault I subject myself to classes where they teach me to think like that.)
So, instead of me blithering on about how I have really no interest in the apparent OTP of the fandom, and in fact the only couple that sparks any yay in me at all is Weir/Zelenka, and even then only a little, I will skip to a few words on the One Episode Foretold By Fandom.
SGA 2x04. Now, I may be a little spoiled, coming in from a fandom where sexbots are canon, but I just finished watching a television episode exploring themes of body-um?-switching, genderfuckery, the proper way to set up threesomes that are really foursomes, girls on girls, boys on boys, and also technobabble! It was a very good return on my investment of 40 min, I feel. So, where is the fic inspired by this fine example of letting the slashers write an episode? That is what I want to know.

Also, I should inform you there's a very good chance you're going to kill me soon. They're trying to talk me into making a comm, and the best name we can come up for it is unfortunately close to yours. >.>

But what is it? *is curious*
And I *do*. I mean, um. *thinks* There was that one Neverwhere crossover and um. A dozen half finished things in my notebooks... Hmm.

I'll tell you what. You can have a five second head start while I gather appropriate weaponry.
