I've written another drabble. There was a vaguely coherent motive for this, but by the time I'd done the drabble I'd forgotten it.
X-men again, despite the icon. This really won't make sense unless you've seen X2. It's about all I can hope for that it'll make sense if you have.
Becuase there are happy endings, for some.
William Stryker opens his eyes. The dream fades, and it’s morning.
In the kitchen, Kyla’s at the coffee-mate, swearing softly. She finally passes him a cup of instant made.
His throat hurts when he swallows, but it passes.
Jason looks up; and for a moment his eyes are shadowed and he’s old - but then he grins and goes back to poking at his Froot Loops. William ruffles his hair in greeting, and takes the seat facing the window. There’s snow on the other side of the glass.
His wife settles beside him, and he kisses her back.
And he smiles.

...
(You can honest with me. It reads like a rather banal scene with a few wasted sentences, right?)
You know, now I'm probably going to end up doing one with someone who has the very impressive power to, uh, turn into a bag of goldfish.
And whose fault is that? ;p

I don't even own it on dvd :\.

I hope so. I'm waiting for someone who has to tell me one way or the other, but there is a worrying silence on the matter. It's possible I've forgotten Important Facts.
But you should! I found it Very Good, and I am the comix geek wannabe who complained through Spiderman, Daredevil and Hulk. And most of the Batmans. And a lot of the comics, come to think of it. Um. Lots of things get blowed up?
I haven't seen x2 yet.
I don't even own it on dvd :\.
You are aware that, for most people, this is upside down?

For most people yes, but for me it makes perfect sense :). At $10+ for a movie ticket, plus maybe $8 for popcorn and a drink because you can't see a movie without popcorn and a drink, often I'll just wait for whatever movie I want to see to come out on dvd.
I mean, for $20, and the convenience of being able to watch it as many times as you like? It just makes sense to me. Plus, bags of microwaveable popcorn are only 99 cents :).
And I think tomorrow I'm going to buy a whole bunch of movies.
x2
Freddy vs. Jason
Whale Rider
Father Ted, if I can find the first season
I think that'll be sweet.

And I absolutely love how they worked in the phoenix storyline from the comics into the movies. That was pure genius, and I really, really liked that. All in all, x2 was probably one of the best movies I've seen all year.
Well, all of last year too.
Makes you wonder if they're going to go anywhere with the phoenix storyline, doesn't it?

Yes, he did. That was the point, really.
So, you liked the bit with the Phoenix, did you? I wasn't quite sure.

Anyway :)
And I did like the phoenix thing, I'm glad they found some way to work that bit in. When I saw the fire in her eyes throughout the movie I was hoping they'd go all the way with it :). Yeah, see? I'm a bit of a comic book geek too.

but it does make sense.
Yay! That's what I was going for.
(I wasn't sure if anyone would get it, but I thought explaining would ruin it for anyone who did...)
