Karen: watched some Due South. Every time [Fraser and a given Ray] walk *near* a bank, it gets robbed. I'm not sure that's statistically credible.
Caia: Perhaps it's not a matter of statistics. Perhaps they just have bank robbers following them around.
Karen: Also whenever they try to go somewhere, the vehicle gets hijacked.
Karen: Planes, trains, boats. Family car.
Caia: Bank robbers and hijackers!
Caia: Criminals REALLY LIKE THEM.
Karen: They like locking them in boxes! Bank vaults and freezers and warehouses.
Caia: KINKY criminals.
Karen: Also I am not convinced they are *actually* partners... it just seems like they go out for breakfast and then they walk by a bank getting robbed and end up locked in the vault.
Karen: Or someone gets kidnapped across the street.
Caia: ..........they are being stalked by psychotic slash fangirls!

Mystery brought to a satisfactory conclusion, conversation then turns to the matter of robot porn.

*snickers* What, you're not going to inform the rest of the world of my THOUGHTS ON ROBOT PORN?

Caia, my friend, I know you do not need *me* to inform the rest of the world of you thoughts on robot porn.

they are being stalked by psychotic slash fangirls! Mystery brought to a satisfactory conclusion

That is scarily plausible, actually.

Come now, don't be shy, let us hear about the robot porn!

So much is explained!

I dunno, maybe I just don't have experience with the buddy-cop show genre. It is like what I hear happens to people who've never opened a sci-fi story until too late. :(

I am inclined to think that Fraser--and I'm pretty sure it's Fraser, Ray is just the, um, beneficiary of this--is emitting some sort of probability-bending, crime-attracting signal. Commit a crime, it says. Commit a weird crime. Commit it right now. *considers* Actually, if Fraser has the subconscious ability to bend reality to his will--because stopping crimes makes him happy, and possibly so does getting locked in things with Ray!--that might explain a lot. Although I don't know what that would say about the getting kicked out of Canada part.

(Also I want to hear about the robot porn, but you can probably take that for granted.)

lols. There is probably an improbability drive built into an inuit charm some friend gave him long ago for, y'know, *luck*. (Hey, how do you *think* they keep themselves entertained up there. Do the northern lights *look* like a probable phenomena to *you*?)

If I were a psychotic slash fangirl in that man's universe, I might be thoroughly tempted to move to Chicago for this purpose.

But I'd rather be in the next universe over with opening night tickets to *that* production of Hamlet in New Burbage, if we're calling dibs on impossibilities.

Well, that man certainly does his share of getting stalked by psychotic non-slash fans. Maybe the slash fans are just more, ah, subtle?

*Thinks about which universe she'd like to move to* Somewhere I will probably not end up being killed, would be favourite, and wow that cuts out a lot of fandoms. One of the more boring eras of Star Trek, perhaps?

The rules of the due South reality are pretty clearly not the rules of our own. After all, this is notorious for not having much in the way of crack fic precisely because you can open any fic with "For reasons that don't need exploring at this juncture, Fraser and Ray were penguins hangliding off the Empire State Building" and have it be totally plausible for the universe.

... I hope that isn't canon. That is all. I more or less adjusted to the ghosts, but then there are campy spies and psychics and I dunno, MB.
